Comments from Art Director, Dan Potter:

“We worked with Steve Dannemiller to develop the ‘DNA’ of what the music could be. Starting from some stimulus music we created a global groove and built each piece of music around this structure so that all pieces felt like they came from the same family. Each athlete had a different dynamic, so this became the basis for the sound selection and informed the generation of each sound palette.

Zidane and Ali, for example, are tough battlers and the sounds for these two athletes are more explosive and impactful. Comaneci, on the other hand, is considerably more delicate in stature yet we didn’t want to discard the aspect of strength she needs to perform her moves which is where we developed heavier sounds towards the middle of the piece.”
